Louie Giglio

Louie Giglio, with his creative, unique, and passionate style of preaching is on the forefront of ministry to young adults in America. He is the founder of Choice Ministries, which began on the campus of Baylor University in 1985 and is now based in Roswell, Georgia. Under the umbrella of Choice Ministries, Louie founded the highly successful Passion Conferences, which have attracted tens of thousands of young adults in cities throughout America. In addition, Louie Giglio has founded 7:22, a Bible study for single adults in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Louie also heads sixsteprecords, a partnership with Sparrow Records.

Louie Giglio, a native of the Atlanta area, sensed God’s call toward ministry at a young age. As a result of this call, after attending Georgia State University, Louie subsequently attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, earning a master of divinity degree in 1985.

After completing his degree in Fort Worth, Louie Giglio moved to Waco, Texas, where he founded an independent student ministry that featured a weekly Bible study called “Choice.” The ministry, called Choice Ministries, grew dramatically and helped to transform the lives of many Baylor University students.

In the spring of 1995, Louie Giglio, and his wife Shelley, moved back to the Atlanta area to care for his father who was suffering with a severe brain infection. Shortly after the move, Louies father died. Instead of moving back to Waco, Louie began 7:22, a weekly Bible study and worship meeting for young single adults in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Today, nearly three thousand young adults gather weekly to worship God.

In May 2000, Louie Giglio hosted the Passion OneDay conference, which was held outside Memphis, TN and reached over 40,000 college age students from all over the United States. Since May 2000, Louie has held other highly successful Passion conferences in other cities across America. Today, having sold over 800,000 music CDs, Passion movement is on the forefront of modern worship.

In addition to his responsibilities with Passion, 7:22, Choice Resources, and sixsteprecords, Louie Giglio also preaches from time to time at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, GA where he and his wife are active members. In September 2005 Louie Giglio removed himself from 7:22 to concentrate full-time on Passion and sixstepsrecords.
