Epistle to the Galatians (New International Greek Testament Commentary)

Information on Epistle to the Galatians from the publisher:

This commentary series is established on the presupposition that the theological character of the New Testament documents calls for exegesis that is sensitive to theological themes as well as to the details of the historical, linguistic, and textual context. Such thorough exegetical work lies at the heart of these volumes, which contain detailed verse-by-verse commentary preceded by general comments on each section and subsection of the text.

Description of F. F. Bruce, author of Epistle to the Galatians:

The New International Greek Textual Commentary is a sophisticated phrase-by-phrase commentary on the 1973 UBS Greek New Testament. Bruce's volume on Galatians explores historical, critical, and linguistic exegesis, but is primarily theological. Thus, he emphasizes Paul's insistence on justification by faith only, and the Spirit as the principle of new life in Christ. While Bruce quotes the Greek text extensively, the running text accompanying the commentary is the NIV. 305 pages, hardcover from Eerdmans.
