Information on Charles Haddon Spurgeon and the Conspiracy from the publisher:
The great London preacher, Charles Haddon Spurgeon, and his family have become objects of cryptically worded threatening notes and, later, violence. The leadership of the Metropolitan Tabernacle of London seeks the help of Sir Robert Anderson, Chief in Charge of the Criminal Investigation Department and Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Scotland Yard. With his team, Detective Throckmorton Fairweather and Detective Sadhu Sotto Singh, Sir Robert pursues the identities of Spurgeon's enemies and critics. Surprisingly Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson lend a hand as an intriguing scenario ensues. In the course of the action, analysis is made of the hatred of the intellectual establishment for Mr. Spurgeon, his views on the American Civil War and the Irish Question, as well as the hyper-Calvinism war with Mr. Spurgeon and his lonely stand in the Downgrade Controversy within his own Baptist Union. Aspects of his family and personal life come to light in the situations of extreme pressure and peril, which embroiled the entire family. Author Biography: David L.
